Shahu Shikshan Sanstha is one of the popular and committed educational institutes in Maharashtra which runs more than 88 educational branches all over the Maharashtra .It was established in 1980 under the able leadership of Hon Laxman Dhobale former cabinet minister of Maharashtra state. Vasundhara Kala Mahavidyalaya is one of the 88 branches of Shahu Shikshan Sanstha Pandharpur .The college was established on 28 June 2000 which runs Programs such as Arts, Science BCA, M.A History and a research centre in History subject, moreover twelve faculty members are recognized Research supervisors .
The college is established with the intention of reaching the unreached by providing a quality higher education .It gives me immense pleasure to forward the appreciation and gratitude to our founder president Hon. Laxman Dhobale for opening this college in the extended area of Solapur which was far from higher education facility .The college has paved the way for higher education to the socially and economically neglected sections of the society, the students from rural area, slum area, settlement, tribal communities and deprived classes got facilitated to get the higher education due to this college most of the students of our college are first generation students who have admitted to the any degree of higher education.
The college is affiliated to PAH Solapur University Solapur and has got recognition by UGC under section 2f on 21/02/2013 and 12 B on 8/01/2014 .The main objective of our college is to serve and uplift the people who are educationally and culturally backward by imparting quality higher education and training to keep pace with the rapidly changing world. We have adequate infrastructure with computers, IT laboratories, digital class rooms open air auditorium, Anuradha conference hall enriched and partially digitalized libraries with internet and WI fi facility and well equipped gymkhana and gymnasium hall with indoor and outdoor sport facility.
We have pre recruitment police training centre named Asha Pratishthan , we have big play ground and beautiful green campus. There is a beautiful womens’ hostel constructed under UGC grant. Various extension activities are held on and off the campus by our active NSS unit which helps us to keep our college campus green clean and plastic free. We feel proud of the History museum and research centre which serves the students by providing experiential knowledge to them.
The cultural department in our college has bagged so many awards in various university national and international level cultural programs
In academic field also we have created our own brand of quality higher education, we run short term and skill oriented courses like museum studies, Proof reading, life skill development, Tally ERP-9 with GST, Travel and tourism management, Spoken English, Java, Self-dense, yoga and karate etc.
We are succeed in making our campus ‘No Tolerance Zone’ I am proud of my hard working and highly qualified teaching staff and efficient Non-teaching staff. Mentor mentee scheme has helped us immensely to understand the problems of students and find out remedies to the same to make our students prompt and socially responsible and ideal citizens of the nation, most of the students are from marginal sections of the society but we have enabled them through quality education to live their lives with dignity and self-respect, moreover we have nurtured moral values such as self-discipline equality, and national integrity among them.
